Back to Now
Are you struggling with whatever is in front of you? Feeling disconnected at work? Putting off what needs to get done? Feeling lethargic and without energy or enthusiasm?
The million dollar question is: DO YOU KNOW WHY????
Usually, the answer is NO. We get stuck and don’t know how we got there. We don’t follow the crumbs along our path that led us to now, we just don’t feel present and engaged where we are.
So, you will need 5 – 10 minutes to complete this fun, uplifting process that can get you current and BACK TO NOW. You will also need 3 pieces of paper, a pen, and a private space to be in your own thoughts.
WRITING BACK TO NOW
- Take out 3 sheets of paper--NOW! That means YOU! Hup to it! This will take 5-10 minutes only. If you won't do this, you may want to stay stuck.
- One the first page, take 1 minute and dump whatever raw feelings are there. The more cussing, foul expressions and intensity the better. Write large or fast or in scribbles—whatever expresses your temperament. Then tear it up and toss it away. Don't go to 2nd sheet till this is done.
- On your second page, write down everything on your mental list: things to do, should's, reminders, worries, and procrastinations for work and home. Place prominently on your desk.
- NOW, for your third page: write down your list of ALL THE TOOLS YOU HAVE LEARNED AND USED. This includes sayings, songs, people that lift your spirits, activities that balance you, thoughts that open your heart and remind you “All is well.” All of those that you can remember in 3 minutes. It doesn't matter if it's been years since you've use it or even if you couldn't get it to work back then. Write as many as you can.
- Let one of these tools select you. It will. Allow it to connect with you. Be the target, the student, receive it. Do it. Surrender--you are learning...
Are you back to Now? I wish that for you. Enjoy the day, Beloved.
